What makes a good team !

$ what makes a good team $ ... chris asked us what makes a good team and he wants to answer it on the blog. so i started to think about my team. Actually our team hasn't got a good team work. That's why we are behimd than the other teams. In my case, I have many experience of working as a team when i was in my county. when i was in the army, work and sports club. However, this team is the most difficult team i have ever had. I think the most prblem is that communication. Communication is very important to work but we don't discuss a lot and don't listen others. Thus, we should discuss a lot even though Elglish is the second language. We should try to give opinion as well as try to listen. Then we support to each other. The second one is that responsiblity. The meaning working as a team is that share work with others. Thus, if someone get a work of the team, he have to responsible to it as well as on his best what he has to do. Otherwise, the team cannot finish the work successfully and not going well. There are many works in team work so it cannot finish only one or two people. In conclusion, as i mentioned above, the cmmunication and responsiblity are benefits to makes a good team.

Bottom

First of all, you lofting the bottom according to the plan and you should think about the place on plywood because the bottom and transom has to be togeher on the plywood. Also you think about the scarf part because this plywood is not long enough so we made a decision to give it 60mm for scarf. when you cut this cardbord, you should cut a bit longer than you drew it. "Longer is always good ! better than short ! " that's always chris say to us because if you make it bigger or longer, you can fix it but if it isn't, you won't. that's pretty important to student for learning.

this is the picture which we was scarfing the bottom as well as the transom. when you scarf these, you need to plane skill and before plane, you should make your plane sharp. Also make sure doesn't move the bottom which you scarf it. when you plane, you should plane strraight way. if you don't, the grain will be curve and doesn't fit.

when you glue it, you should on plastic up and under the wood because it just protect to scarf from another thisng such as sticky other piece of wood and dusty. After glue these, you should pressure the scarfing. if the glue squeeze, it will represent the pressur but don't too much glue it because after dry you have to sand it a lot of time.

Before the bottom on, you make sure all staions flat. Otherwise, it has a gap between bottom and stations. when you check it somthing heavier put on the ends of the bottom. It's easy to check and fast as well as doesn't need to many people. After mark which you going to plane or cut, you should make it fair and leave it longer, especially aft. I thimk cutting forward is ok as long as leave aft longer.

midship frame

these are same way to make a stem, laminating is used many time when we build a boat. After steaming these are clamping with piece of wood. When we laminating, i made a mistake to set up laminating block inside because nomally it set up outside. so i just made a decision to set up outside when i glue these but it didn't fix. Both size should be same but it wasn't. that's why we had to try it again so it took us many time to work. After this mistake, i realised that how i have to hurry when i clamp these and how to do it well. After steaming these going to be cold so you have clamp very quickly if you do it with your teams, it will be more fast and easy. Also you should remeber that clamp with piece of wood because these doesn't clamp mark on it and the laminating block should screw inside and outside to doesn't move when you clamp.
left timbers clamped outside and right ones were inside. As you can see, these looks different.
